My friends

27th December, 2009. 10:09 pm. Ah, well then. All holiday's close
An excellent Christmas I've had, if a mite groggy.
After all, I spent the days leading up to Christmas staying up till 1 in the morning writing, while mom wakes up at 4 am. The loud synthesis of same did not the best mix make. Caffeine did her wayward best and consciousness for Christmas was saved. With Christmas itself convivial and full flown on feast and fest and conversation.
And then there was yuletide. Where I received first one gift:
Tears of the World - a lovely Darkangel Aeriel/Erin fic, set after "Pearl of the Soul of the World", which really pulled from the rhythmic poetry from the series, plus what not to love about the paring. The torrential rainfall had greened all things, nourishing plants that had remained dormant for decades and washing clean those that had stood for years collecting dust. That wonderful sense that the world has been awaiting this greening. Turning from wrought turns to the wonderful labor of rebuilding the world.
Then came owe joy and surprise a yuletide madness of yet another Darkangel fic: whatever a sun will always sing is you, which was simply gemlike in its brevity. so many days Erin puts her sword aside and builds instead of breaks. She lifts and carries, holds and turns, bends and hammers, and slowly the great machines are reborn. How else to rebuild the soul of a world?
As to what I wrote in those frantic hours, well it's not yet New Year's is it? So I'll not yet tell. However, I wrote 14 stories this year (9 yule and 5 madness), which since I seen a few of these posts, you are more than welcome to try and guess which they are.
But with over 3500 stories this year, they are but a part of the wonderful pageant through which, eyes dazzled I am currently wandering. But if you can figure any out, I'll New Year's resolute you a little something.
Or perhaps you should just jump off into the cool waters of yuletide. It's very comfortable. Eventually, I'll join the sea of rec's posts. Right now, I'm just swimming.

24th December, 2009. 11:25 am. Christmas Caroling
Sung with internet gusto...
God rest ye merry, gentlemen Let nothing you dismay Remember, Christ, our Saviour Was born on Christmas day To save us all from Satan's power When we were gone astray O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy
( In Bethlehem )

20th December, 2009. 10:00 am. Oh, and I forgot yesterday there was car stuff
I picked up my... I haven't really posted the saga.
So, where we left off I was assuming a woman of mystery stold my car. So, I bought a new car, which on the way back from the dealership (getting lojacked) was rear ended. Sob not even a week old. By this time the old car had shown up somewhere only lightly stripped and not at all burned. Among other things, they took my tote bags for groceries and all the empty water bottles (and if I may say it was an impressive graveyard back there), so it would seem they were green thieves. They also took my many year old suntan lotion bottle, which I should have thrown away because the components were separating, but hadn't gotten around to it. So they were concerned about skin cancer. Or perhaps they needed those separating components for a maguffin. But they left the american flag, so they are not patriotic americans. Well, they were green international persons of mystery. So, insurance paid to replace the missing items (okay, not the plastic water bottles) in the old car. So, I went to the auto-body shop with new car and swapped it for old car. Then I drove around for weeks, waiting for new car. It's an odd thing to make a new car payment while driving one's old car. It feels rather like buying it again.
Meanwhile, someone at church knew someone whose daughter wanted a new-old car. So, on Thursday I sold my old-old car, and on Friday got up and there was no car in my parking spot. At least this time because I meant it not to be there. I once again took public transit to work. This time attending my 8:00 meeting from the bus.
Yesterday, I got my new-car back and the auto body man quite kindly hoped that they wouldn't see me again for awhile. I agreed. It felt good to drive the new car, although now I feel like all the other cars are aiming at me. But they aren't. Or they are, but not in that way. I look forward to not carrying around stacks of paper full of numbers on tiny slips of paper, that I keep consolidating and then loosing the consolidated list, to call in my off moments to deal with the x,y,z of where is my car? Now I need to file them as the year draws to its close.

20th December, 2009. 8:16 am. And now I avoid real morning labors with fannishness
I went to see Avatar yesterday, which is very pretty and Dances with Wolves/Last Samuri/Fill in the blank. This had me errr... Jonesing for one of my favorite episodes of Justice League. There was also shopping and ballroom dancing in one of my Opera sale purchases (wait, no I mean absolute score of a deep red velvet bodice. It looked fabulous, if very warm. (I was once more reminded that dancing in a hoop skirt can be a bit dangerous when your hem needs be taken up by two inches.)) But I digress.
Justice League - Heart and Soul (woops, make that mind). I was just going to link back to my previous essay, but it seems to be rather short. And since I have several million infinitely more important things to do than this, and am therefore am in an absolute funk about doing any them...
( JL Heart and Soul (mind) thoughts - what you haven't seen it? I'm sure its online somewhere. Go watch it. I'll wait... )
